Problem: There is little doubt that the utilization of imaging tests has skyrocketed over recent years.
Solution: Like Minded Strategy Group is creating the first MRI Datamart for health plans to assess this utilization and its associated costs. The MRI datamart will begin with a series of data collection points from 93 MRI centers on the east coast in 2011, with total US expansion goals by 2013. With a “total US” datamart, health plans will be able to benchmark themselves against regional and national utilization and cost, and will be able to collaborate on best practices for inclusion and exclusion criteria.
